What's new

2026.11.1, First named release 2026-11-07

New

• A guided walkthrough of the site, which you can reopen from the footer of any page.
• Plan a tour shows everything along your route as dots in a window, in a map explorer.
• Photo and plan search now covers every state.
• Facts read from nomination documents show how sure we are when we are less than 95% sure.
• Every ranking page links the others and names the listings on it, so search engines can find them all.
• The search box sits in the same place on every page and draws the same square tiles everywhere.
• A cookie statement and a clear Accept all / Reject all choice for the analytics cookie.
• This page: what changed in each release, in plain words.

Fixed

• Search tells you when it is still starting up, holds your search until it is ready, and tries once more if it gets no answer.
• Old addresses with www or without the closing slash now go straight to the right page.
• The "built" source label on a listing names the right source.
• Indiana's and Arkansas's building facts were read again with the improved reader.
